Punditfic Prompt Fest

Because it's about time this comm had a [community profile] three_weeks_for_dw prompt meme.

This post will work like a kink meme, although prompts can be as kinky or fluffy or gen as you like. As long as it's related to fake news fandom -- including associated series (SWC, Tek Jansen) and people (pundits, comedians) -- it's golden.

The rules:

1. One prompt per comment.
2. Unless the prompt specifies a format, fills can be fic, art, mixes, meta...whatever you're inspired to create.
3. Include a warning in the header or at the beginning of the comment if your fill contains violence, non-con, or character death. Other warnings are left to your discretion.
4. Multiple fills per prompt are allowed.
5. Crossposting to other DW comms or journals is fine, but please don't post outside DW until 3W4DW is over (May 15).

Aaaaand go!

Stephen is not only a geek, he's secretly a fannish one! What are his contributions to 3W4DW? In which fandoms does he write the most fic?

For Jon, drag is a way of life.

Life As We Know It |trans woman Jon | G

Jon pulls the sharp, clean cuffs over her wrists and shrugs her shoulders into the suit. It fits her perfectly, of course, except for that one very prominent Thing.

Avoiding her reflection in the mirror, Jon wonders if maybe, in a different life, in a different body, she would have chosen this for herself, would have gravitated towards crisp collars and gleaming cuffs instead of longing after soft necklines and flowing skirts. After all, she doesn’t look half bad in them, and Tracey has always said she loves to see her in a suit.

Well.

She’s always said she loves to see a man in a suit.

Jon slouches in a way that suggests discomfort with the clothes she’s wearing, like a turtle in an ill-fitting shell, and hopes that no one can see that it’s her skin itself that she wishes she could trade in.

;_; ♥

This is especially poignant and sad. I liked the careful capitalization at the top, and the way Jon considers herself throughout. And the last line is amaaazing. I love how it plays in with canon bodylanguage and the extra-big suits at the beginning of Jon's time on TDS and everything. And it just has a wonderful sound to it.

Does anyone remember the episode where Stephen says he loves cheese so much that it's practically built up into most of his aorta? Well, that's where this little mutant plot bunny came from. I'm sorry. :/

Stephen/Jon. Stephen has a heart condition that will ultimately prove fatal if he keeps up his stressful lifestyle (which, obvs, he does). He's managed to keep it a secret from everyone so far, until one day he nearly collapses in Jon's office. Jon's not sure which is worse, though: losing his favorite correspondent, or losing his favorite correspondent for good.

Remix of "The King's Speech." Jon's next in line to take over the Kilborn dynasty at the Daily Show. But he has a slight impediment of giggling effeminately every single time he's in front of a camera. That's where Stephen Colbert, Poker Face Extraordinaire, comes in. (Bonus points if the giggling becomes a valuable trait instead of a deficiency.)
