Fake news fandom was starting to feel under-analyzed in comparison with pundit fandom, so I made some pie charts.
The numbers are taken from
fakenews_fanfic's tag list. I focused on the pairings that were specifically TDS/TCR-related (so no Anderson, Keith, or Rachel), and limited it to tags that had 10 or more uses.
Chart 1 has all the pairings except Jon/Stephen and Jon/"Stephen". Loosely grouped and color-coordinated, so you can see what areas of fandom get the most focus.

Correspondents (RPF) (284)
11 Aasif/Olivia
58 Jason/Sam
24 John Oliver/Demetri
10 John Oliver/Larry
85 John Oliver/Rob Riggle
28 Jon/John Oliver
11 Jon/Steve
14 Rob Corddry/Ed Helms
16 Kristen/Olivia
11 Steve/Nancy
16 Stephen/Steve
Colbert characters (FPF) (193)
11 "Stephen"/Amy
26 "Stephen"/O'Reilly
16 "Stephen"/Tad
32 "Stephen"/Charlene
17 "Stephen"/Opponent
12 "Stephen"/Paul
33 "Stephen"/wife
30 Tad/Bobby
16 Steve/Tad
Colbert and friends (233)
25 Amy/Paul
38 Chuck/Geoffrey
26 John Oliver/Amy
14 Jon/Amy
73 Stephen/wife
39 Stephen/Paul
18 Stephen/Paul/Amy
Stewart and friends (161)
20 Jon/Brian Williams
18 Jon/Denis Leary
123 Jon/wife
Chart 2 takes all of the above (which, for the record, is grand a total of 871), smushes them into groups, and stacks them up against the Jons and Stephens.

284 Correspondents (RPF)
193 Colbert characters (FPF)
233 Colbert and friends
161 Stewart and friends
484 "Stephen"/Jon
993 Jon/Stephen
You can see why I left them off the first chart -- half the other pairings wouldn't even have been visible! There's more Jon/Stephen than everything except "Stephen"/Jon put together, and that's just at FNFF, not even attempting to include the many years when
tds_rps was active and also J/S-dominated. (The inclusion of TDS_RPS would likely do other interesting things to the data, particularly the Rob/Ed and Steve/Stephen numbers...but a proper analysis would take more time than I have.)
So, yeah...this is what you get instead of a prompt thread this weekend. Discuss at will!
